DA, QUENTIN RAY ANNOUNCES ONE OF THEIR OWN RETIRES AFTER 35 YEARS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT

Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Quentin Ray announces the retirement of Dan Aguilar from the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.  Dan has served in local law enforcement for the past 35 years and has served as an investigator for the 9th District DA’s Office for the past 18 years.

Dan started his career at the Clovis Police Department in 1990 where he exceled and promoted to Detective in 1999 and primarily worked sexual assault crimes.  Dan was selected officer of the year in 2002 while at the Clovis Police Department, as well as receiving many meritorious medals and one life saving medal. Dan was selected to be a member of the Major Crimes Unit when it began in September 2005. Dan was hired as an investigator at the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in 2006 and became the Supervisor of the Investigators in 2014 until present.  Dan has served as the Commander of the Major Crimes Unit for 10 years and has investigated over 100 homicides in Curry and Roosevelt Counties throughout his law enforcement career.  One of Dan’s biggest accomplishments was catching Noe Torres after a nation and worldwide man hunt for the Carlos Perez Homicide. 

Dan has been a devoted part of our law enforcement family for many years. In his career he gained the respect of his fellow officers by his continued dedication to helping people and pursuing justice. He will be greatly missed. Dan’s retirement plans include spending time with his lovely wife of 35 years, Yolanda, his 7 children and 14 grandkids.
